Broomall, PA. Following the sale of Franklin Polymers’ name and specialty plastics distribution business to JLM Marketing, Inc., president Roger F. Jones announced today that his company is changing its name and line of business, to Franklin International Management Consultants, Inc. Mr. Jones noted that while he will be consulting for JLM Marketing for the next two years, he intends to continue and expand his decade-long management/marketing consulting business. He is presently writing a book titled Successful Management in the Plastics Industry for Technomic Publishing, Lancaster, PA, which is planned for publication in mid-2001. He is also a consulting editor for Technomic, and previously authored Guide to Short Fiber Reinforced Plastics for Hanser Publishing, Munich, Germany, in 1998. Mr. Jones is also an officer of PolymerPlace.com, the plastics product application development website.
In the course of his long career in the industry, Mr. Jones has been managing director of BASF Engineering Plastics, president of LNP Engineering Plastics and Inolex Chemical, a group executive with Beatrice Chemical, and held management/professional positions with Avisun (now part of Amoco Polyolefins), ARCO Chemical, and DuPont.
He holds a BS with Honors in Chemistry from Haverford College and has studied business administration at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. He is a fellow of the Society of Plastics Engineers, a fellow of the American Institute of Chemists, a member of the American Chemical Society and Sigma Xi (the scientific research society). He has published over 80 articles and papers on plastics and is the inventor of record on 20 patents in the U.S. and overseas.
